Your Horoscope for Virgo

Now we arrive at the new moon in Virgo at 0 degrees on August 22. This will be the first of two new moons in a row in Virgo, which is highly unusual—the second one will arrive on September 21 in Virgo, 29 degrees, and it will arrive as a solar eclipse. A solar eclipse is much stronger than a regular new moon (approximately three times as strong), and it usually marks a special event in your personal history. They frequently bring major landmarks that we long remember.
The fact that these two new moons are in your sign suggests that this is a critically important time for you to state your desires and move forward with them. I will address the second new moon—the solar eclipse—next month. This month’s new moon on August 22 will be mixed. The difficult part about this new moon is that Uranus will be in harsh angle to the Sun from his place in your house of professional recognition. Something may go wrong in your career, or you might encounter an obstacle you didn’t see coming. Uranus is known to be volatile, and that’s especially clear this month, since Uranus will be positive and helpful on August 9, but difficult and unruly on August 22.
You will still have powerful support from Pluto in your assignment house during the August 22 new moon, and Saturn and Neptune are glued together in your financial eighth house of other people’s money, bringing support to your career house. You may receive a chunk of money at this time, and that will give you a good sense of security. Venus will support your reputation and financial interests at this time, too.
The key to how this month ends is Mercury, the leader of the August 22 new moon. Mercury will be moving direct by this time (he turned direct on August 10) and will be very strong. Mercury will immediately get in touch with action Mars in Libra and your second house of earned income. Mercury and Mars will be friendly, another sign that your income appears to be protected. This is only part one—part two will come next month during the solar eclipse. New moons always open a new road ahead, and often we don’t see it until the eclipse speaks its message. Even then it may take two weeks for the eclipse to deliver more news in its second act. Eclipses usually take time to give you the full picture, and that will come in September.
