Your Horoscope for Sagittarius

by Susan Miller

On the Saturday when the full moon falls, August 9, the moon will be “void” all day, which means that the moon will not be communicating with any other planets. In other words, the moon is unavailable when it is void, so it is never wise to start anything of great importance on a void moon. Professional astrologers have long avoided a void moon when suggesting a start date for any client’s important initiative. It used to be an arduous process of searching through long GMT timetables on the Internet to find out when the moon would be void. The moon is the fastest moving body in our solar system, so keeping track of her whereabouts can be quite a workout. The moon changes signs every two and a half days, and at times the moon won’t go void at all on one day, and only for a few moments the next. However, on August 9 the moon will be void and ineffectual for 23 hours.

I made an app to make the process of tracking the moon’s activities easy. The name of my app is “Moonlight Phases by Susan Miller,” and you can find it in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The app reports the moon’s progress for every day of the year, for every year through 2050. The one-time cost is $7.99. It has GPS built in and will calibrate the timing of the void moon for your location. If you travel, it will give you accurate information wherever you are. You need not enter your city coordinates—the app does it for you and will even send you notifications when the moon goes in and out of being void.

The app also tells you the sign the moon will be in for each date and time—by simple observation over time, you will notice that certain days, when the moon is in a certain sign, are always brighter, happier days for you.

On August 9, the moon will be void all day (she will be “sleeping”). The void period will start at 3:54 AM and, remarkably, the moon will remain void for 23 hours, until 2:50 AM on Sunday, August 10 (those are the time in New York City, where I live).

This is why I am going to tell you that Friday, August 8, is your wonder day—the day to start something. This day, August 8, is so gorgeous I was stunned. I also like that it is the day that comes before the full moon, which means that on August 8, the moon will still be building in strength toward fullness and brimming with prime energy.
