Your Horoscope for Cancer
by Susan Miller
Cancer is always happiest at home. If you are out of work, concentrate on contacting friends and colleagues you know and enjoyed working with and see if you can work together again. Mercury is currently retrograde until August 10, so I feel you will be more effective by going back to the past than putting dozens of résumés into Internet sites to find a new job. You can also look to your siblings or other family members for names of people to contact.
While Mars is in Libra, you will also have a chance to work on projects to upgrade your home, such as making repairs or stocking up on new linens or other items you need. It is the perfect time for you to get your home ready for the year-end holidays, which will be here before you know it.
Money also seems to be on your mind as you enter August. I say this because shortly before you entered the month, you went through the July 24 new moon in your second house of personal income and payments. Any new moon will affect you for weeks and months after it occurs—but especially so in the two weeks that follow its arrival.
You may have a large expense and need to pay a demanding person or entity (such as a creditor or the taxman). Pluto was opposed to the July 24 new moon in Leo, and Pluto can bring a person who is hard to deal with. This person would have a scorched-earth method of asking for money—he wants his due now, with no compromise or discussion. If you do not have to pay a large bill, it could be that you asked for a raise but were (or will be) turned down, or perhaps you were approved for such a tiny raise that you will barely notice the difference. A better way to go after extra income would be to ask for a different company benefit, such as better health insurance, flex time, tuition matching funds, and so forth.
